The Thomas the Tank Engine Man My Father By Veronica Chambers - Topsham Museum
Added: 13 May 2024
Daytime Lecture Matthews Hall Thursday 16th May 11am-12noon (doors open 10.45am).
entitled "The Thomas the Tank Engine Man-My Father" by Veronica Chambers
Our lecture on Thursday 16th May will bring back many memories. Our excuse for the lecture is that Topsham is on a branch line-we couldn’t resist a talk on “Thomas the Tank Engine Man-my Father”. Veronica Chambers is the elder daughter of Rev Wilbert Awdry and the story of his life, including the initial story told to a sick child, that then developed and has become the series and stories we all know, read to children, and indeed enjoy ourselves.
Prepare to indulge in your memories and the stories as well as hearing about Rev Awdry’s life, his work in Jerusalem, his ordination and fascination with trains.
Entrance is £5 payable at the door
