WOW! - Dawlish Museum
Added: 30 May 2013
The 'Let's Go Down the Strand' event was a great success for the town of Dawlish and turned out to be a great fund raiser for the museum. The deciscion to limit the bric a brac to second hand books paid off as very nearly £100 was raised. the patrolling quiz salesman took £60. The decorated glassware sold very well so the ladies will have to get busy supplementing our stocks for the summer season.
The sun shone and the people came. The sausage and bacon butty stand next to the museum's stall did a great trade and the museum volunteers had to be very disiciplined not to succumb too often to the tempting smells!
It also provided a good opportunity to raise the profile of the museum to locals and visitors alike. Townspeople are gradually becoming more aware the the museum is need of extra support.
