Beards Bonnets and Bicylces now open - Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life
By: Tiverton Museum
Added: 05 February 2015
Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life’s new temporary exhibition is now open, featuring photographs of local people from approximately the 1870s to the 1940s. This is a light hearted exhibition which invites visitors to look closely at the fashions, hairstyles and beards sported in these photographs. It also examines the history of photographic studios in the town.
Some of the prints featured are taken from a collection of glass plate negatives discovered in an attic in a building in the town a few years ago. They come from a long standing photography business based on Bampton Street, and the prints are being shown for the first time.
The exhibition is family friendly with a dressing up corner.
The exhibition will run until 27th June.
Entry to this exhibition will cost £1 for adults and accompanying kids go FREE! (For visitors with a full admission ticket entry to this exhibition is free).
