Family Friendly Museum Award - Brixham Heritage Museum
Added: 16 July 2012
Brixham Heritage Museum was pleased to have been selected in the top six placements for the Family Friendly Museum Award by readers of the Sunday Telegraph newspaper. Museum Administrator, Mrs Lesley Smith, and Museum Co-ordinator of the Mini-Museum Project (see below), Mrs Louise Cresswell, were invited by the competition organisers to a celebration lunch in London. A proud Lesley said for our small museum to get into the top six was really a remarkable achievement made possible by the dedication and hard work of all the museum's part-time staff and volunteers..
Brixham Heritage Museum is also receiving a share of grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Torbay Council for work with young children as part of a Mini Museum programme delivered for Torbay Childminders by the museum in partnership with Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust, Torquay Museum and Torbay Council.
