Spooky September - Totnes Museum

Seems the 'ghost hunters' of Britain just can't get enough of experiencing the night-time creaks and groans within our Tudor merchant's house! Plenty of paranormal investigators have already been comparing notes on strange smells, noises and atmosphere within the Fore Street museum. Ghost Callers UK are due back on October 29th and on November 11th, it's the turn of Ghost Hunt in Cornwall to cross the border in search of the supernatural! Our Heritage Officer Alan Langmaid says museums are under pressure to find ways of attracting a more diverse audience - and this is certainly a different one. It's also a good way of utilising the building. 'After all,' says Alan, 'we don't have to keep the lights on and it's a good way of boosting your revenue.'
