Learning at Arlington Court
At Arlington as well as welcoming self-led visits by school groups, we also have an exciting new education programme supporting Key Stage 1 and 2 subjects, including science, history and art.
We are proud of the quality of these sessions and look forward to giving your school an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Resources available
Workshops run by staff and volunteers include a Victorian Servants day, where children learn more about the working lives of servants by taking part in hands-on activities such as cleaning silver, doing the laundry and even emptying a chamber pot.
We run a Victorian Christmas workshop in the months leading up to Christmas, giving children the opportunity to find out more about the traditions of Christmas, make decorations and play parlour games.
We also run a carriage museum workshop where our unique collection is used to explore how people travelled when carriages were the main form of transport.
The Outdoor team also run a series of workshops based on Habitats, Natural Art and Wild Play.
We can also tailor a visit to fit with specific topics and can organise tours of the house and carriage museum for groups.
